About TeamGantt

TeamGantt is a software application centered around simple and intuitive gantt charts. Released in 2010, it helps teams plan, collaborate, track, and learn so they can deliver projects on time and budget more often. TeamGantt was created with a single purpose in mind: to bring calm and clarity to teams who work together.

Scalable plans for people who manage people

TeamGantt is ideal for project managers, team leaders, and executives looking for a visual planning solution that offers a simple yet powerful interface. Its flexible features adapt to teams of any size in any industry, including construction, engineering, software development, marketing, and manufacturing.

TeamGantt’s paid plans are priced differently than other project planning tools. You only pay for the users who plan and manage projects. The rest of the team can manage their tasks and collaborate for free!

TeamGantt also offers a free version with basic features, making it a great option for students or personal projects.

An industry underdog making an impact

TeamGantt was one of the first online project management tools to put a full-featured, collaborative gantt chart at the center of the plan. TeamGantt offers drag and drop scheduling with flexible workflows that include to-do list, calendar, and Kanban board views in addition to gantt charts.

TeamGantt’s simplicity modernized gantt charts and made them easy for anyone to navigate and use. It even inspired other project management tools to incorporate gantt charts or other timeline-based features into their products.

While TeamGantt doesn’t rely on outside investors like other well-funded competitors, it consistently gets rave reviews from the people who use its software.

The story behind TeamGantt

TeamGantt was originally developed by Groundbreaking Designs LLC, a Baltimore-based software company co-founded in 2009 by John Correlli and Nathan Gilmore.

At the time, John and Nathan were both developing software for a large roofing contractor in Baltimore, Maryland. After searching hard for a good way to schedule and collaborate on projects online, they couldn't find anything that did both well. They decided to tackle the challenge of building what would eventually become TeamGantt on nights and weekends.

John and Nathan soon realized that other companies might be interested in the product as well. As soon as an early version was ready, they made TeamGantt available for others to try. The software quickly became a hit, as many others were looking for the same thing!

After iterating on user feedback and paying close attention to usability, John and Nathan officially launched the first public release of TeamGantt in November 2010. Within a few hours, they had their first customer, and in that first year, they attracted big names such as Twitter, Expedia, and Turner Broadcasting.

After the successful launch of TeamGantt, Groundbreaking Designs LLC rebranded to align its corporate identity with its flagship product. Now, the company and its software are both recognized as TeamGantt.
