Stay on top of your work in Slack

Make quick updates where your team collaborates, and keep every task up to date in TeamGantt.

  • Create new tasks from messages

Hover over a message, click the three dots, and select Create Task. The message text becomes the task name, so keep it or rename it. Pick a project and click Create.
  • Create new tasks with the slash command

Type /tg create task in any Slack message and enter a task name. Choose the project, then click Create.
  • View and update tasks daily

Open the TeamGantt app in Slack, or type /tg today, to see the tasks assigned to you today. Use Quick Update to change progress or add a comment.
  • Access your projects quickly

Type /tg projects to list your active projects, or add a search term to narrow it down. Then jump straight to a project's Gantt, List, or Calendar view.
  • Respond to comments without leaving Slack

When you're mentioned in a comment, the TeamGantt app in Slack shows a badge. Switch to Messages to reply, and answered comments clear from your list.
  • Stay in the loop with notifications

Get a Slack notification when you're assigned a task or mentioned in a comment, so important details don't slip. Adjust what you get with /tg settings.
  • Start your day with confidence

Set up a daily reminder of the tasks you're responsible for. Use /tg settings to choose how often and what time it arrives.

Frequently asked questions

How do I connect TeamGantt to Slack?

Sign in to TeamGantt first, or create an account if you're new. Then add TeamGantt to Slack, choose your workspace, and authorize the app. TeamGantt connects to Slack directly, so you don't need Zapier. Once you're connected, type /tg help to see every command. The Slack integration guide covers the details.

What Slack commands does TeamGantt support?

TeamGantt's Slack app has five commands:
  • /tg create task creates a task in the project you choose
  • /tg today lists your tasks for today
  • /tg projects lists your active projects (add a search term to narrow it)
  • /tg settings manages your notifications and reminders
  • /tg help shows every command

Can I turn a Slack message into a TeamGantt task?

Yes. Choose Create Task from a message's more actions menu, or type /tg create task, then pick the project. The message text becomes the task name, and you can edit it before you save. Tasks created in Slack start with a name and project only, so add the assignee and dates in TeamGantt.

Can I update my tasks without leaving Slack?

Yes, for quick updates. Open the TeamGantt app in Slack or type /tg today to see today's tasks. Then use Quick Update to change percent complete or add a comment. For anything else, select Open in TeamGantt to go straight to the task.

What notifications will I get in Slack?

Once you connect, TeamGantt automatically notifies you in Slack when you're assigned a task or mentioned in a comment. You can also turn on daily task reminders at the frequency and time you choose. Change any of it, or turn notifications off, with /tg settings.

Can I reply to TeamGantt comments from Slack?

Yes. When you're mentioned, open the TeamGantt app in Slack and switch to Messages to reply. Replied messages clear, so you only see what still needs your attention. Comment mention notifications need to be on in /tg settings.

Does TeamGantt post project updates to Slack channels?

No. TeamGantt's Slack app sends notifications to you personally and doesn't post to channels. To post in a channel when something changes, like a new task, connect TeamGantt and Slack through our Zapier integration.
